A Look Into Cheney's Possible Role
January 12, 2007
Murray Waas, of the National Journal, has written an extensive
investigative article on how Cheney may have directed Scooter Libby
to discredit Joe Wilson -- and also to disclose that Valerie Plame
was an operative who specialized in WMDs.
(By the way, we get e-mail solicitations for contributions to
pay Scooter Libby's legal expenses. It is with great irony, no
doubt, someone has included this quote at the top of the solicitation: "Scooter
Libby is one of the most capable and talented individuals that
I have ever known, Dick Cheney." With references like that,
you've got trouble.)
In his latest piece, Waas offers an exhaustively researched likely
scenario of Cheney's possible role in getting Libby to leak classified
information in order to strike back at Wilson.
We strongly suggest you read the article at:

By the way, the chairman of Libby's defense fund campaign is none
other than Mel Sembler. Sembler is a big time GOP fundraiser who
Bush appointed Ambassador to Italy, where he had part of the Embassy
named after himself.
Sembler's background is littered with controversy, most notably
a highly discredited adolescent drug rehabilitation program that
was closed down for gross abuse of the young clients.
Just an FYI about who is backing Libby's defense.
