'Scooter' Goes for a Spin? What Libby Plans to Say at Trial

Basically, Scooter Libby is going to claim that he was too busy with "serious" issues to remember that he outed a CIA operative who specialized in the tracking of illicit WMDs. In doing so, he compromised our ability to know where WMDs were. But, he was too busy protecting us from WMDs, he will argue, to remember making us more vulnerable to them.

Now, does that pass the common sense test? Of course not.

Then again, he's counting on being pardoned before the trial starts.

Bush doesn't want to see Cheney on the stand, does he?

Oh, and Cheney doesn't want to see Cheney on the stand. Because he would actually be under oath, and that would likely lead to a perjury charge, not to mention implicating Bush in the betrayal of America."
