Others are Following BuzzFlash's
Conclusion: Armitage is a Bushevik Diversion
September 1, 2006
We were glad to see "Media Matters" confirm what BuzzFlash
posted on LibbyDefenseFund.com
on August 27th. That is to say
that the Armitage "leak" trumpeted by Isikoff and Corn
is a diversion from the conspiracy of betrayal in the White House
that compromised our national security.
How well-seasoned reporters
like Isikoff and Corn could fall for such a red herring is a question
worth exploring, particularly
since Corn wrote the first column calling attention to the Novak
outing of Valerie Plame. But fall for the Armitage diversion, they,
apparently, did in the excerpt from their book, "Hubris. Here is what "Media Matters had to say in one of their two
reports on the "scapegoat" tactic:
"Numerous media figures have asserted that a recent report
purportedly identifying former Deputy Secretary of State Richard
Armitage as
Robert Novak's original source for Valerie Plame's identity as
a CIA operative prove that Karl Rove and I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby
were not involved in the leak of her identity. However, Armitage's
role as Novak's first source is not inconsistent with Rove's and
Libby's involvement in the leak -- both were original sources of
the information for two other reporters."
Now that Rove is apparently out of legal jeopardy (although Libby
isn't), the White House (as in Rove) are moving to cast history
in a new light and revise the prism through which we can judge
the facts.
Don't let them get away with it.
